₹12-Lakh Fine Imposed On RR Captain Samson For Slow Over-Rate Against PBKS

Mumbai: RR captain Sanju Samson has been penalised after his team maintained a slow over-rate against PBKS on Tuesday

As it was RR’s first offence of IPL 2021, Samson was fined ₹12 lakh.

“Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 match against Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on September 21,” the IPL said in a statement. Also Read: Punjab Kings Dropping Gayle On His Birthday Makes Zero Sense: Sunil Gavaskar

“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to a minimum over-rate offences, Mr Samson was fined Rs 12 lakh,” the statement added.

RR’s 20-year-old pacer Kartik Tyagi took two wickets and defended four runs off the last over to help his team defeat PBKS by 2 runs in their IPL 2021 encounter. Also Read: Babies Don’t Change Diapers As Frequently As PBKS Change Their Playing XI: Sehwag

With the victory, RR moved to fifth position on the points table with eight points in eight matches. RR put up a total of 185/10 before restricting PBKS to 183/4.
