As per the data available from Cowin, the country has already given more than 1.4 crore vaccination doses till 3:10 pm. A total of 1,40,20,970 vaccine doses have been given so far.

According to sources, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is aiming to set a record for giving the maximum number of COVID-19 vaccine doses in a day to mark the PM’s birthday on Friday.

While India has managed to deliver over one crore COVID-19 vaccine doses in a day even on earlier occasions, today the BJP is targeting to deliver over 1.5 crore doses in a span of 24 hours. However, looking at the current pace, it is expected that the country will be able to give more than 20 lakh doses of the vaccine today.

A report said the party has asked its health volunteers to make sure people come out to get their COVID-19 vaccine shots on the day.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the 77 crore mark as of Thursday.
