As per the new guidelines, the state government has also banned guests at weddings, with only 200 people allowed as per the COVID-19 protocol. The organizer will have to inform the local administration about this.

“We must make traders aware in markets that ‘no masks, no goods’. No shopkeeper should give goods to customers who are seen without a mask. Masks should be made mandatory for everyone in streets/markets. The police should patrol regularly, and the public address system should be made more effective,” the government stated.

The notification said that tracing tests should be done for every person coming from other states or abroad and additional surveillance should be done on buses, railways and airports.

“Surveillance committees have done commendable work in COVID-19 management. Reactivate monitoring committees in villages and urban wards in view of the third wave. Get everyone checked from outside. Their health should be constantly monitored. People should be quarantined, and admitted to hospitals as required,” the government said.

In view of the possibility of a third wave of the epidemic due to Omicron, the UP government has said that it had made systematic preparations in the past, which should be re-examined. Medical facilities available in all government/private medical institutions in the state should be closely scrutinized, as well as the reactivation of COVID-19 help desks and daycare centres in industrial units.
