12 Members Of CSK Support Staff, Test Positive For COVID-19: Report

Mumbai: This year it seems there is no end of a hurdle for BCCI and Indian Premier League (IPL) as three-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday decided to extend its quarantine in UAE by another week.

This comes after MS Dhoni-led side members of the CSK contingent tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Times Of India, Chennai Super Kings extended its quarantine period after some members of the franchise tested positive for coronavirus. The report stated that the members tested positive after coming to Dubai.

As per report, four tests have been conducted after the CSK detachment arrived in the UAE on 21 August. The result of the fourth test conducted on Friday is not yet known.

Meanwhile, India Today sources confirmed that 12 members of the support staff and one peser tested positive for coronavirus. Members have now moved into isolation.

Well there are no names that have been announced yet and CSK management expects official confirmation soon.

Considering the state of coronavirus around the world, IPL 2020 was shifted to UAE. The UAE government had issued strict protocols where all franchisees arrived in the UAE with two ‘COVID19’ negative reports for each member.
