1,396 New Cases, India’s COVID-19 Count Climbs To 27,892

Mumbai: Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Luv Aggarwal said on Monday that 1,396 new COVID-19 reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of confirmed cases was 27,892.

He said that a total of 381 people have been recovered in the past day and the recovery rate is now 22.17 per cent.

Giving information to the press here, Aggarwal said, “1,396 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking our total confirmed cases to 27,892.”

Aggarwal said, “20,835 people are under active medical care. In the last day, 381 patients have been cured. The total number of people recovering is 6,184. The recovery rate has increased to 22.17 per cent.”

“The 16 districts in the country, which had earlier cases, have not reported any fresh cases for the past 28 days.

There are three new districts to be included in this list – Gondia in Maharashtra, Dewangre in Karnataka and Lakhisarai in Bihar,” Aggarwal said.

Apart from that, 85 districts in States and Union Territories have not reported any new cases in the last 14 days, he said.
