143 New COVID19 Cases Reported In Odisha, State Tally Reaches To 2,388

Mumbai: A Health Department official said that Odisha on Wednesday registered 143 new cases of COVID-19, of which 2,388 were infected in the state.

Of the latest cases, 132 were found among those lodged in quarantine centers, while another 11 contacts were found during tracing, he said.

The state currently has 1,054 active cases and 1,325 patients have recovered from the disease so far.

Odisha has conducted 1,59,567 trials so far.

So far seven people have died due to COVID-19 in the state, the official said, while two others who tested positive have died.

In the last four days, the state reported 569 new COVID-19 cases.

While there were 129 cases on 31 May, it was 156 on 1 June, 141 on 2 June, in addition to 143 cases found during the day, the official said, noting that it was the highest level in the state in such a short time.

Out of the 30 districts in the state, only Rayagada in southern Odisha has not reported any cases of COVID-19.
