Mumbai: Telangana reported 149 new cases to its COVID-19 tally, bringing the total infection count to about 2.96 lakhs, while a related fatal incident reduced the toll to 1,612.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most cases with 25, followed by Medchal Malakjagiri with nine, a government bulletin said on Tuesday that details would be provided by 8 pm on 8 February.
The total number of cases was 2,95,831 while the recovery was 2,92,415.
Till Monday, about 1,330 patients are under treatment and 31 samples were tested. Cumulatively, more than 81.54 lakh samples have been tested.
The Bulletin stated that the samples tested per million population were more than 2.19 lakh. The case fatality rate in the state was 0.54 per cent, while at the national level it was 1.4 per cent.
The recovery rate in Telangana was 98.84 per cent, compared to 97.2 per cent in the country.
