170 New COVID19 Cases Reported In Arunachal Pradesh

Mumbai: A health department official said on Wednesday that the COVID-19 tally of Arunachal Pradesh had increased to 6,466, including 24 more security personnel who had tested positive for the virus.

State Monitoring Officer Drs. Lobsang Jampa said the death toll of COVID-19 in the northeastern state rose to 13 due to the infection of two people in Changlang district.

Among the latest cases, 87 from the Capital Complex area, 17 from Papampre, 15 from West Kameng, 10 from Changlang, 7 from Tawang and Lower Subansiri and five from Lower Dibang Valley and East Siang were recorded.

Four new cases have been reported from West Siang and Longding, the official said, out of which two are from Namesai, Tirap, Lohit and Upper Subansiri, besides one paved Kesang.

“Fourteen army personnel, four Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel, three Assam rifle personnel, two Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) constables and one CRPF constable are among the latest patients.”

He said that 127 people got cured and were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday taking the number of recoveries to 4,658 in the state, he said.

The recovery rate among Kovid-19 patients in Arunachal Pradesh is now 72.03 percent.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 1,795 active Kovid-19 cases, Jampa said.

He said that the Capital Complex area in Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa regions had the highest number of active cases at 517, followed by Papumere in 190.

The state has so far tested 2,10,345 lakh samples for Covid-19, including, 2,186 on Tuesday, the official added
