UP: Two minor girls from Uttar Pradesh were allegedly abducted and taken to Hyderabad where they were raped, police said on Thursday.
Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Singh said that the 12 and 16-year-old girls are friends and are residents of a village in the Narhi police station area.
On June 14, two days after the kidnapping, a girl’s father filed a case of kidnapping. He told that on Wednesday, girls were found at the Bharauli intersection here.
The victims told the police that Deepak of their village had abducted them along with their friend Sonu, a resident of the neighbouring village. The girls told that they were raped by taking them to Hyderabad.
On the basis of the statements of the girls, IPC section 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her for marriage) and section 376 (rape) and sections of the POCSO Act have been registered against the accused, Singh said.
He added that the girls have been sent for medical examination and efforts are on to arrest the accused.
