2 New Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed, Govt Prepared And Monitoring Situation: Dr Harsh Vardhan

Mumbai: Union Health Minister Drs. Harshvardhan said on Monday that two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported, one each in Delhi and Telangana, taking the total number of positive cases in India to five.

Dr Harshvardhan told the media here, “Two positive cases of COVID-19 in Delhi and Telangana. His travel history is from Italy and Dubai. There are five total positive cases in India so far.”

The Health Minister said, “We are already prepared and keeping a close watch on other countries. We are also discussing whether we have to revise any of our decisions or focus in a particular direction.”

He said that as the situation develops, travel restrictions can be extended to other countries as well.

The Union Minister said, “Passengers are being screened at 21 airports, 12 major ports, and 65 small ports. So far 5,57,431 passengers have been screened and 12,431 passengers have been screened at the airports.”

Under the travel advisory, existing visas including e-visas will remain suspended for China and Iran, the health minister said. “We advise Indians to avoid non-essential travel to China, Iran, Korea, Singapore and Italy,” he said.
