Top police officials including the DGP Dilbag Singh have reached the school to review the security situation

Mumbai: Two school teachers, including the principal, were shot dead by militants, who entered a government school premises in Srinagar on Thursday. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

The Jammu Kashmir Police informed that a ghastly terrorist attack killed two innocent teachers at a government school in the Iddgah Sangam area of Srinagar.

As reported by Times Now, four to five teachers were having a meeting in the principal’s office when at least two terrorists barged in. The terrorists separated the Muslim teachers from the group and dragged two non-Muslim teachers, including the principal, out of the school building. They then opened fire at them in the school compound and fled from the spot.

Top police officials including the DGP Dilbag Singh have reached the school to review the security situation.

“These recent incidents of targeting civilians are to create an atmosphere of fear, communal disharmony here. This is a conspiracy to target the local ethos & values & defame local Kashmiri Muslims. This is being done on instructions from agencies in Pak,” said J&K DGP Dilbag Singh.

Further details on the attack are still awaited.
