2,000 Farmers Died By Suicide In Telangana From 2017 To 2019: FM

Mumbai: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday criticised the Telangana government saying that at least 2,000 farmers died by suicide in the state between 2017 and 2019.

“The government claims no other state looks after farmers as Telangana, why have such countless ranchers ended it all in the state? Gross foul play is being finished to the ranchers,” Sitharaman said at Banswada in Telangana.

“Legislative issues ought not to be finished in that frame of mind of ranchers. In this state, project oustees are likewise confronting unfairness as they have not been restored as expected and have not gotten pay,” she said, charging that ranchers in the state were not in a decent circumstance as was being guaranteed by the TRS government.

Sitharaman’s comments come a day after she visited PDS shops and questioned civil supplies and district collectorate officials as to why the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was missing from the shops.

Sitharaman is touring Zaheerabad parliamentary constituency as part of the BJP’s Parliament Pravas Yojana.
