2019 One Of The Best Years For Indian Cricket: Virat Kohli

Mumbai: After clinching the last thrilling ODI series of the year Skipper Virat Kohli has said that 2019 has been one of the best years in Indian cricket apart from the team’s heartbreaking loss in the ICC World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand.

India faced a semi-final exit in the World Cup tournament in England as the Kiwis defeated the Men in Blue in the tournament.

“2019 has been one of the best years for Indian cricket. Apart from 30 minutes in the World Cup (semi-final defeat against New Zealand). It has been a great year. We’ll keep chasing that ICC trophy, this group deserves it for the amount of hard work we have put in. We have a vision in place,” ICC quoted Kohli as saying.

Kohli praised India’s fast-bowling department and said that they could ‘protest anywhere’.

He said, “Having a group of fast bowlers who can outplay any opposition anywhere – they are distracting the spinners from India is a huge achievement. We feel that we have a chance to win the series overseas Is, not just in weird games.”

The Indian captain said that there is no stopping the road as an exciting year goes on.

“Personally I have enjoyed batting, but there is no way I am stopping it. An exciting year is coming. I understand my batting well. I want to play within my range, the gameplan. It is very important to know what you want to execute, ”said Kohli.

India won the three-match ODI series against West Indies by 2-1 after beating the visitors by four wickets in the series decider at Cuttack on Sunday.

India holds the number one spot on the ICC World Test Championship table with 360 points followed by Australia, who have 216 points.
