Mumbai: Officials said on Friday that 23 people, including 15 Assam Rifles personnel and seven National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram.
A statement issued by the state’s information and public relations department said the confirmation of new patients, including a 26-year-old woman, came to COVID-19 positive at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Thursday night.
The statement said that Assam Rifles personnel have been deployed in Zokhwasang near Aizawl and NDRF personnel in Lungwar.
The female patient had returned from Kolkata and was from Aizawl district.
So far 226 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Mizoram, out of which 83 are active cases, while 143 people have been recovered.
