Siddhant’s sudden demise has left his family and the college community in shock. A postmortem confirmed that the cause of death was a heart attack, attributed to blood clots in the heart. Siddhant’s younger brother, Yash, revealed that he had dropped him off at the college that morning, and there were no visible signs of distress during their ride.
The tragedy highlights Siddhant’s challenging yet inspiring journey. His father works as a car driver, and his mother is a salesperson at a saree shop. Siddhant, determined to support his family and improve their financial situation, was preparing for the UPSC exams while also working part-time in Delhi. His untimely passing has devastated the family, who were relying on his ambitious plans for a brighter future.
Authorities have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating further. The incident has brought attention to the rising number of heart-related fatalities in India, particularly among young individuals. According to the Times of India, Mumbai alone recorded 27 heart attack-related deaths daily in 2023. A Kailash Healthcare report highlights that cardiovascular diseases account for 28% of all fatalities in the country, with sudden cardiac deaths (SCD) becoming a major concern.
This tragic event underscores the urgent need for greater awareness and preventative measures to address heart health, especially in young populations juggling academic pressures, work commitments, and personal aspirations.
