29 People Dead As Delhi Bus Falls Into Drain On Yamuna Expressway, Several Injured

Mumbai: At least 29 people were killed and many others injured after a bus falling into a drain on Yamuna Expressway in Delhi on Monday morning. UP roadways bus from Lucknow to Delhi has become a victim of an accident near Agra.

According to the reports, the bus was taken from Alambagh bus station in Lucknow at 10 am and crossed the Lucknow Expressway and Inner Ring Road at 3:30 on Monday morning. Around 4:30 pm, the driver apparently closed the dozen and lost control of the steering.

In high speed, the bus slipped off the Expressway and fell into the 30 feet deep Jharna Nalla.

Locals of nearby Baghel Thar village were the first respondents and were partially able to evacuate 20 live passengers from the submerged bus.,

About two hours after the accident, bulldozers and cranes reached the spot and the bus was straightened and the remaining passengers were cut to take out, but by then all had died.

A total of 29 people, including a child and a woman, have died in the accident and efforts are on to identify the bodies.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his grief and condolences and also announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh for the kin of the deceased by UP roadways.
