Noida: Three policemen were suspended for allegedly blackmailing a young couple who had booked a hotel near Pari Chowk in Greater Noida and extorting ₹50,000 from the hotel owner, as per reports.

Constables Rajendra Singh, Sachin Baliyan, and Ankit Singh took Rs 20,000 from the couple to settle the case. The three police officers also demanded Rs 1 lakh from the hotel owner which later scaled down to Rs 50,000.

As per the claims made by the hotel owner, he paid only Rs 30,000 and then called his brother to bring Rs 20,000.

The hotel owner’s friend recorded a video of the incident.

In the viral video, constable Rajendra heard saying, “You are the biggest culprit who is sitting with his eyes wide open. When someone comes, everything has to be checked,” as reported by the Times of India.

After the video went viral on social media, the police department ordered an inquiry in this matter, and three constables were found guilty and suspended.
