3 Terrorist Killed, Hostage Rescued In encounter In J&K’s Ramban

Mumbai: The police said today that three terrorists shot dead after they took a civilian Hostage in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.

Amy spokesperson in Jammu region Lieutenant clonal Devendra Ananda said, “Hostage was rescued after the nearly 5-hour-long standoff. We have killed three terrorists in the gunfight, which has ended. One soldier was also killed in action.”

This was the first of two encounters and one grenade attack that was reported from Jammu and Kashmir this morning.

The Five terrorists had earlier in the day entered a house in Batote while attempting to flee the security forces on whom they had opened fire. Joint parties of police, Army and CRPF cordoned the area and exchange of fire ensued.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) Defence, Jammu said that at around 7:30 am today a civilian had reported to an Army QRT that two suspicious individuals have attempted to stop his vehicle at Batote on National Highway (NH)244 today. The civilian does not stop the vehicle and informed Army QRT.
