3,205 More Beneficiaries Get COVID Vaccine Jabs In Assam

Mumbai: The National Health Mission (NHM) said that a total of 3,205 health workers received COVID-19 vaccine shots in Assam on Friday, out of which the total number of commentators in the state was 13,881.

Four small cases of adverse events were reported during vaccination (AEFI) – two from Karimganj and one each from Sivasagar and Tinsukia districts.

A total of 19 AEFI cases have been reported in the state.

The ‘Covishield’ vaccine was given to 3,033 beneficiaries at 60 session sites, while 172 received ‘Covaxin’ shots at six centres.

Twenty boxes of ‘Covaxin’ arrived at Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi Airport from Bharat Biotech, Hyderabad.

Assam reported 17 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, its lowest since May 18, taking the tally to 2,16,957, NHM said in a bulletin.

The death rate was 1,077 with no new deaths due to infection.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.36 per cent. The state has conducted 63,48,913 sample tests so far, including both RT-PCR and rapid antigen test.
