34-Year-Old Woman Gangraped By Truck Driver And Two Others In Chhattisgarh
Mumbai: In another shocking incident, Police said on Sunday that a 34-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped by a truck driver and his two accomplices after they gave her a lift in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh.
Police said that following the complaint of the police, three people were arrested from Raipur and brought here on Saturday.
Keshkal Superintendent of Police RP Sharma said, “On October 1, a woman going from nearby Baniagaon village to Kondagaon took a lift on a truck that was going towards the capital.”
“The woman said the truck driver Basant Baghel (24) and two others, identified as Sandeep Gupta (32) and Sanjay Durgam (20), forcibly took her on the way to Keshkal Valley and accompanied her inside the truck. Gang-raped.”
She told the people about the incident after reaching Raipur, after which a zero FIR was registered and the case was transferred to Kondagaon police station, the site of the crime, the officer informed.
The three were booked under sections 376-D (gang rape) and 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC.
