35-Year-Old Woman Gangraped In Madhya Pradesh, Four In Custody

Mumbai: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by five people in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, four of whom have been taken into custody, PTI reported. 

Rewa’s Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shiv Kumar Verma told PTI that the incident took place on September 30, when the victim had left her home for some work and she was allegedly raped by the accused.

The officer said that the accused left the victim in the condition of unconsciousness under the Shahpura police station limits.

After a search, the woman’s family found her on 1 October near the Panchayat Bhawan in Shahpura, with multiple injuries, and was taken to a government hospital, where she is currently admitted.

The official said that the victim regained consciousness on Monday and would undergo a medical examination.

Based on his statement, the police have detained four accused for questioning, while the fifth is absconding.

He said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the IPC and further investigation is going on.
