Delhi: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two men in a car in North East Delhi’s Shastri Park area. The police gave this information on Thursday.
The woman was brought to the city on August 16 by men on the pretext of a job. According to the police, all of them are residents of Surajpur in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
An officer said that he reported the incident to the police on August 16 and based on his complaint, both the men were arrested the same day.
He said that the statement of the victim has been recorded and her medical examination, as well as consultation, has been done.
Based on the woman’s complaint and her medical examination report, a case has been registered under sections 376D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, the official said.
He said that during interrogation, the woman named one of the accused and gave the registration number of the car to the police.
On the basis of the car’s registration number, a police team traced the men, the officer said. They have been sent to judicial custody and the vehicle has been seized, he said.
