36,571 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In India In 24 Hours; Active Cases Lowest In 150 Days

Mumbai: As many as 36,571 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in India in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 3,23,58,829

Active COVID-19 cases in the country stand at 3,63,605, the lowest in 150 days. The death toll due to coronavirus has risen to 4,33,589 after 540 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate remained below 3 per cent for the 25th day in a row and currently stands at 1.94 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stands at 1.93 per cent.

According to the Ministry of Health, there has been an increase in the number of recoveries of 36,555 people in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people who have recovered to 3,15,61,635.

There have been 433,589 deaths in the country so far, out of which 540 people have died in the last 24 hours.

The recovery rate is also the highest since March 2020 and at present it is 97.54 percent.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested till August 19 is 50,26,99,702, with 18,86,271 samples tested yesterday.

Till date 57,22,81,488 doses of vaccine have been administered across India, of which 54,71,282 doses have been given in the last 24 hours.
