3rd Wave Of COVID-19 Is Not Coming, It Is Here: Mumbai Mayor

Mumbai: Amid concerns of third COVID-19 wave, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Tuesday said that the “third wave isn’t coming but it’s already here”.

“It’s already been announced in Nagpur,” she said, referring to state minister Nitin Raut’s recent statement.

Speaking to the reporters, Pednekar also said that she is not leaving her ‘Bappa’ (Lord Ganesh) and is going to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at her home only. She also urged people to follow ‘Mera Ghar, Mera Bappa’ (My house, my lord) for the upcoming Ganesh Utsav on September 10. Also Read: Maha Health Minister Rajesh Tope Urged Citizens To Strictly Follow COVID19 Guidelines During Ganesh Chaturthi

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has already appealed to political parties to stop agitations, meetings and other events to avoid crowds.

“We may celebrate the festival later. Let us give priority to the life and health of our citizens. The situation may get out of hand given the spike in daily cases,” Thackeray said.
