Mumbai: Nearly 40 states including Washington DC have been put under curfew on Sunday in response to the outraging protest in the US.
Approximately, 5,000 National Guard members have deployed in 15 states and Washington DC with another 2,000 ready to be deployed when needed.
Nearly 40 cities including Washington DC impose curfews in response to violent protests across the US as per Gen. Joseph Lengyel, Chief of the National Guard Bureau.
“No, I don’t think there is systemic racism. I think 99.9 percent of our law enforcement officers are great Americans. Many of them are African Americans, Hispanic, Asian, they are working in the toughest neighborhood, they have got the hardest job to do in this country and I think they’re amazing great Americans”, says Robert O’Brien, National Security Adviser.
Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden visited the state of Delaware on Sunday. He stated that the nation is in ‘pain’ today and must not let the pain destroy them.
The Governor US State of Minnesota has extended the curfew till Monday by tweeting, “We have reason to believe that bad actors continue to infiltrate the rightful protests of George Floyd’s murder, which is why we are extending the curfew by one day.”
The retaliation comes after George Floyd, an African American died in Police Custody.
