5 Killed, 18 Injured Due To Lightning In 4 Madhya Pradesh Villages

Mumbai: Five persons were killed and 18 others sustained injuries in four separate incidents of lightning in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna, officials said.

According to district officials, incidents took place in Ureha, Pipariya Daun, Chaumukha and Simrakhurd villages of Panna district on Friday.

One casualty each was reported in Ureha, Pipariya Daun and Choumukha villages, while two women were killed in Simrakhurd due to lightning.

A 70-year-old man died of electrocution while going to the forest for grazing cattle in Simarkhurd, while another person died in Pipariya Daun and a 65-year-old man died in Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chaumukha. gone. Rachna Sharma said.

He said seven people were injured in lightning strikes in these three villages.

Apart from this, two women in their 20s were struck by lightning when they were working in a field in Ureha village, collector Sanjay Kumar Mishra said, adding that 11 others, who have been injured in the incident, are undergoing treatment at Panna district hospital.
