5,018 New COVID-19 Cases, 64 Deaths In Karnataka

Mumbai: The Health Department reported on Monday that COVID-19 in Karnataka increased to 7.70 lakh in addition to 5,018 cases, while the death toll rose to 10,542, while 64 more people died.

On this day, 8,005 patients were discharged after recovery.

The department said in its bulletin that as of the evening of 19 October, a total of 7,70,604 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, including 10,542 deaths and 6,53,829 discharges.

Active cases were 1,06,214 with 1,05,282 in stable conditions in isolation wards of designated hospitals, while 932 were being treated in intensive care units.

17 out of 64 people died from Bangalore Urban, followed by Dakshina Kannada (6), Bengaluru Rural, and Chamarajanagar (5) and others, most of whom had either a history of severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) or influenza-like illness (ILI).

Bengaluru Urban accounted for 2,481 in 2, positive cases, taking its infection count to 3,10,021.

Tumkuru 253, Chikkaballapura 193, Ballari 186, Bengaluru Rural 173, Mysuru 151, Mandya 130, Dakshina Kannada 107, Chitradurga and Koppal 106 were among the districts that shared the remaining fresh cases.

Also in discharge, Bengaluru Urban tops with a total recovery of 2,41,942, followed by Mysuru 37,319 and Ballari 33,442.

A total of 67,46,358 samples have been tested so far, of which 78,581 were tested on Monday alone.
