6-Yr-Old Girl Raped In MP; Accused’s House Bulldozed Within 24 Hrs

Mumbai: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a shopkeeper in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena after he lured her to a room behind the shop using chocolate and biscuits. The horrific crime took place in Khitora village under the Devgarh police station area of Morena.

The incident happened when the girl had gone to buy a beedi for her father. The accused, identified as Rinku Sharma, lured the girl with chocolates and biscuits. Rinku took the victim to the back of his shop and raped the girl. Later he fled from the spot.

As soon as the news of the incident spread, there was an atmosphere of panic in the village. According to a report in the Hindi daily Hindustan, the police later booked the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).

The district administration registered a case against the accused and started a bulldozer at Rinku Sharma’s house within 24 hours. At present, the girl has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The housebreaking operation was done in the presence of the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM).

The matter came to light when the girl informed her parents about the crime. She told her family that the 32-year-old shopkeeper raped her by luring her with candy and chocolates into a room behind his shop.

The accused also threatened the girl that if she told anyone, she would be killed. The crying girl reached home and narrated her ordeal. The police have now admitted the girl to the hospital for treatment. Police said that they are looking for the accused.

“The accused perpetrated the crime on Tuesday night. We have filed a case against him and his house was demolished in the presence of SDM,” said Sukhdev Singh Chouhan, SHO, Devgarh police station.
