Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 61-year-old man has been arrested in Thane district of Maharashtra for allegedly molesting and staging a woman.
The 60-year-old woman, who worked as a domestic help, told Naupada police that the accused Prakash Mhatre was allegedly scaring her in the Makhmali Tala area in the last four months, due to which she had to leave many jobs in the area, police officer, said.
On Monday, the accused came close to her and touched her inappropriately while walking on a road she added.
The victim hit a man with a tiffin box and tried to catch him, but he started running away. However, some passers-by taken out Mhatre and took them to Naupada Police Station.
The woman lodged a complaint, on which the accused was arrested and under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (on the ground of a woman’s assault or criminal force, intent to humiliate her humility) and 354 (d) The case was registered), he added.
