62,224 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In India, Weekly Positivity Rate Drops To 4.17%
This is the ninth consecutive day when India has reported less than one lakh Covid cases
Mumbai: According to the ministry of health, India on Wednesday reported 62,224 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in India to 2,96,33,105.
This is the ninth consecutive day when India has reported less than one lakh Covid cases.
However, as many as 2,542 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. With this India’s death toll reached 3,79,573.
The daily positivity rate is 3.22 per cent and is less than 5 per cent for 9 consecutive days. The weekly positivity rate has also come down to less than 5 per cent and currently stands at 4.17 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 38,33,06,971 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till June 15. Of these, 19,30,987 samples were tested on Tuesday.
On the bright side, 1,07,628 people were discharged in a single day. A total of 2,83,88,100 people have been discharged after being hospitalized due to infection. The recovery rate increased to 95.80 per cent.
With 28,00,458 people inoculated in the last 24 hrs, as many as 26,19,72,014 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been given under India’s massive immunisation programme.
