7 Terrorists Killed In Kashmir Valley Including 3 Pakistanis: J&K Police

Mumbai: Seven terrorists including three Pakistani nationals were killed by the security forces in Kashmir valley, Jammu and Kashmir Police said. Four terrorists were killed in Kupwara, two in Kulgam and another in Pulwama, police added.

“An encounter started in Kupwara yesterday. Yesterday, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who came from Pakistan were killed. Another Pakistani terrorist was gunned down early today; Shaukat, a local terrorist from Shopian, was gunned down along with him,” IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar told news agency ANI.

“In Pulwama, a local Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was gunned down. A local Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist and a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist were killed in Kulgam. A total of 7 terrorists killed so far – 3 of them were Pakistanis and 4 were local terrorists,” Kumar said.

Days after a heavy crackdown by security forces, security forces gunned down two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including a Pakistani national, who was part of a group sent to attack Amarnath Yatra, PTI had told.

The slain terrorists have been identified as Abdullah Ghauri, a resident of Faisalabad, Pakistan, and Adil Hussain Mir alias Sufiyan alias Musab, a resident of Anantnag, a police spokesman said.

Both are associated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and were being kept under constant surveillance after surviving an encounter in Sopore.

Acting on specific information regarding the movement of terrorists in the Bemina area of ​​Srinagar, the police set up a special check post there, police said.

He told that during the checking, both the accused started firing indiscriminately at the police party.

In the initial firing, five policemen received minor injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital, he said.

He said two terrorists were killed in the ensuing encounter and their bodies were recovered from the spot.
