71 New COVID-19 Cases In Meghalaya, Tally 9,678

Mumbai: A senior official said that at least 71 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya on Monday, leading to an increase of 9,678 in the state.

Director of Health Services Aman War said that there are currently 1,009 active coronavirus cases in the northeastern state, while 90 have died due to infection.

He said that out of 117 patients, the number of diseases has increased to about 8,579.

36 new cases were registered in West Jaintia Hills, followed by 29 in East Khasi Hills, two each in West Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi, and one each in East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills.

A total of 2.03 lakh samples have been sent so far for the COVID-19 examination, Warr said, adding that break-ups of rapid antigen tests and RT-PCR testing will be made available at a later date.

War said about 700 tests were conducted in the state in the last 24 hours.
