8 Arrested Based On Viral Video In Guwahati Gangrape Case

Mumbai: In a swift operation conducted in the early hours of Friday, police from Gorchuk and Jalukbari Police Stations arrested eight individuals in connection with an alleged gang rape incident in Boragaon. The arrests followed a tip-off received at 2:30 AM from Dharmendra Kalita, a media professional, regarding a video reportedly showing the crime that had been circulating among Boragaon residents.

Acting promptly, Inspector Mayurjit Gogoi and Sub-Inspector Kajal Dutta led extensive raids across multiple locations with the Gorchuk Police Station team. Using the video as evidence, they successfully apprehended eight suspects, who have been identified as:

  • Kuldeep Nath (23), son of Sabin Nath, resident of Gakhirchowk, Boragaon
  • Bijoy Rabha (22), son of Kanak Rabha, residing at Shiv Nagar Path, Boragaon
  • Pinku Das (18), son of Rabin Das, residing at Nizarapar, Boragaon
  • Gagan Das (21), son of Ashu Das, from Nizarapar, Boragaon
  • Saurav Boro (20), son of Durga Boro, from Bakul Nagar, Boragaon
  • Mrinal Rabha (19), son of Sanjib Rabha, from Pachim Boragaon, Nizarapar
  • Dipankar Mukhiya (21), son of late Deba Mukhiya, from Padumbari, Tetelia
  • Rabin Das, under Jalukbari Police Station jurisdiction

The victim’s identity remains unconfirmed as investigations are ongoing. Authorities have assured the public that the case will be pursued with the utmost urgency, with residents calling for strict action against the accused.

The arrests have brought a sense of relief to the local community, but the incident has also sparked outrage, with demands for justice and accountability. Police are continuing their investigation, and further updates are awaited as the case develops.
