8 Deaths, 1,001 Personnel Test Positive For COVID-19 So Far: Maharashtra Police

Mumbai: So far 1,001 police personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra, informed the state police on Thursday

Of these cases, 851 are active while 142 police have recovered from the infection.

So far eight policemen have died in the state.

The police further stated that during the lockout period there have been 218 incidents of assault on police personnel and 770 accused have been arrested.

Maharashtra is the most affected state due to COVID-19. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), 25,922 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the state, including 5,947 and 975 deaths.
