MP: In the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, police have seized 952 kg of ganja worth about Rs 1.5 crore from a truck and arrested four people in this connection.
Police said in a release that the police had received information that a consignment of narcotics was about to arrive from Uttar Pradesh, following which they stopped a container truck on Tuesday at Chak Chauraha of Mauganj police station area, about 60 km from Rewa district headquarters.
On searching the vehicle, the police found 53 sacks of ganja, which was hidden in a cabin near the driver’s seat.
The police said in a release issued on Tuesday that the consignment of the seized medicine is worth about Rs 1.5 crore in the international market.
Two people in the truck have been arrested.
Apart from this, two people riding a motorcycle in front of the truck have also been arrested to keep an eye on the presence of the police.
The police also seized six mobile phones, a truck and a motorcycle.
Police said a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
