A Tremendous Journey Of Late CM Parrikar From 1955 To 2019

Mumbai:  Manohar Parrikar was born in Mapusa, Goa on 13th December 1955. He served as a 10th Chief Minister of Goa.

He was the first ministry to be IIT alumni to become MLA. In 1978 he was graduated from metallurgical engineering from Mumbai University.

In 2001, he was awarded the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

Parrikar served as a Defence Minister in Modi government from 2014 to 2017. He was the defence minister when a surgical strike happened by India in Pakistan that killed many terrorists.

He was called as bhau or bhai by many leaders relating big brother. From only 4 seats in 1994, he was the CM of Goa as a ruling party.

In 2012 he was awarded CNN-IBN Indian of the year in politics sector. In 2018 on 26th October he was honoured with the Swarajya awards.

With his severe pancreatic cancer, he was seen with nasal tube and a frail form in public meetings. He uses to be opposed by the opponent party for this and then in January, he had once said that he will serve Goa till his last breath.

Parrikar was not one of those who has a luxurious life, he was the simplest one. It was Parrikar who had put forward the name of Narendra Modi for a prime ministerial candidate.

His journey has been tremendous from being an IIT from Mumbai to a small party in Goa to MLA than CM and Defence Minister.

Late CM Parrikar led his last furthest breath at his home in Panaji, Goa dated 17th March 2019 at the age of 63.
