Aam Aadmi Party Promises ‘Deshbhakti’ Curriculum, 24×7 Open Markets In Delhi

Mumbai: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its manifesto for the Delhi assembly elections. While releasing the manifesto, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that after the success of happiness and entrepreneurship curricula, AAP will introduce “Desh bhakti” curriculum and spoken English classes.

Manish Sisodia said during a press conference, “Aam Aadmi Party vows to run a government and take a resolution to help every common citizen of Delhi.”

“We have proved that in the last five years we have put a model to show how the government can help the people,” he said.

The party also said that the AAP government will try to meet the long-pending demands of the Delhi Jan Lokpal and Delhi Swaraj Bill when it comes to power after the Delhi Assembly elections of 8 January.

“The Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill, which was passed in the state assembly in 2015, has been pending with the central government for the last four years. The AAP government will continue its struggle to get the bill passed, ”Sisodia said.

Kejriwal’s deputy also said that the 10-point guarantee card would also be a part of the AAP’s manifesto. Providing good education, medical facilities to every child, reducing pollution by one-third and cleaning up the loose overhead electric wires in various areas of the city.

He said, “The Delhi government will guarantee to supply clean and pure water to every household around the clock, 24-hour power will continue and 200 units of free power will continue.”

The AAP promised a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the people who died while performing their duties and appointing new sanitation workers in the city.

“After five years of working on the basic amenities of Delhi, we now have to take Delhi to the next level. We have to make Delhi the modern capital of a developed country that every human can be proud of,” Arvind Kejriwal said.

The 28-point program of the AAP also included pursuing the central government to include Bhojpuri in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution.

“After the success of Khushi courses and entrepreneurship courses started in schools run by the Delhi government, a patriotic curriculum will also be offered,” he said.

The party has promised to provide ‘mohalla marshals’ for the safety of women and said that it will continue with its ongoing projects of installing CCTV cameras and removing black spots by installing new street lights.

The AAP said it would ensure doorstep delivery of ration cards and undertake a pilot project to allow markets in the capital to open 24 hours. The party has promised free pilgrimage to 10 lakh senior citizens in its manifesto for the Delhi elections.

The Delhi assembly polls are largely being seen as a two-way race between the ruling AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Delhi assembly elections will be held on February 8. And, the votes will be counted on February 11
