Aam Aadmi Party Seeks Cancellation Of Kapil Mishra’s Candidature Writes To Election Commission

Mumbai: The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday wrote to the Election Commission alleging “wrongful acceptance of nomination forms of BJP candidate Kapil Mishra from Model Town constituency” and demanded cancellation of his candidature.

“Kapil Mishra, BJP candidate has been in possession of government house for the last 10 years and as per the guidelines issued by Election Commission (EC), it is mandatory for the candidate to submit a no-dew certificate related to electricity, water. Telephone expenses for such accommodation at the time of filing nomination, read the letter written by the AAP by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi.

“Kapil Mishra has neither submitted the arrears certificate nor filled the relevant No.8 (ii) of Part A in Form No. 26, and deliberately omitted the said column in both Form 26 filed by the said candidate. Has given, ”the party said in its letter to the EC.

The AAP has also demanded through the letter to allot election marks to the BJP candidate from Model Town constituency.

“In view of this, you are requested to kindly place the allotment of the insignia to the candidate in the abbess and pass the necessary orders, as regards the cancellation of Kapil Mishra’s candidature,” the letter reads.

Delhi, which has 70 seats, is slated to go to polls on February 8. The counting of votes will take place on February 11.
