Aam Janata Angry On Fuel Price Cut, Congress

Mumbai (New Delhi) : Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala, lashed out at BJP, PM Narendra Modi on recent fuel price cut as it is showing “pittance of one or two rupees” at the public.

While talking to media, Surjewala said that an RTI reply has revealed that the Modi government was selling petrol and diesel to several countries at less than half the price at which it was being sold in India. This showed that this government “is fleecing its own people.”

He further says that the BJP has to undergo the panic reaction of the public by these price cut ahead of assembly polls in four states.

He also said that the states where BJP is ruling levy high value added tax (VAT) on petroleum products, he demanded that fuel be brought under the GST, whose tax slabs are much lower than the VAT levied in states. These states are Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand etc.
