Admin Of ‘Bois Locker Room’ Arrested; Devices Of Group Members Seized

Mumbai: Two days after the ‘Bois Locker Room’ group chat exposed on the social media, Delhi police have arrested the admin of the alleged group.

The group is allegedly run by a group of young boys from South Delhi who shares images of women, many of them minors, without their permission in the group. These photos are considered to be more lewd comments, squatting and body shaking.

Cybercrime cell of Delhi police took suo Moto and file an FIR against the alleged group members. On Wednesday, the CyPAD unit of Delhi police arrest the Admin of the group.

‘CyPAD Unit has asked for information about the alleged group & its members from Instagram. Report from the platform is awaited. Devices of identified members of the group have been seized & sent for forensic analysis. The role of other group members is being ascertained.

The group named ‘Bois Locker Room’ had been shared widely on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday. The Cyber Cell then took suo moto cognizance of the matter and filed an FIR.

Earlier, DCP (Cyber Cell) Anyesh Roy told The Indian Express, “After we came to know, we registered an FIR under Sections 465 (forgery), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), 469 (forgery for purpose of harming reputation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Sections 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) and 67A (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act in electronic form) of the IT Act. We are probing the matter and collecting all technical evidence.”

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, Swati Maliwal also took notice of the group and issued notices to the Delhi Police as well as Instagram. She said that all the culprits should be arrested to give a tough message.

Similar to this chat room, on Tuesday an alleged ‘Girls Locker Room’ chat group was exposed on social media. Yet there is no confirmation on its existence.
