After An Anxious Wait, IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman Arrives To Homeland

Mumbai: Late in the evening around 9 pm, IAF wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman was brought officially to the homeland via Wagah Border. People at Attari waited since morning to greet the brave commander. His arrival was delayed by  5 hours as he was about to reach at 4 in the evening.

Abhinandan was back after 2 days spending in Pakistan custody since Wednesday morning, he crossed LOC while following Pakistan’s jet during an air raid by another side of Indo-Pak border.

Abhinandan’s MIG 21, brought down Pakistan’s plane-F 16. Comparatively F 16 is stronger then MIG 21.  F 16 was given to Pakistan on a rental basis by America so that to fight with terrorism.

Abhinandan’s gunslinger mustache was signalized with a smile. 4-5 Pakistani BSF soldiers were seen surrounding him. He shook hand with border security personnel and ladening with sophistication, he walked towards the other side of Pakistan.

He was seen with a positive and confident face. Indian Border Security Force greeted Abhinandan with a hug. Wearing a blue-check blazer with a white shirt and grey trouser he entered India.

The crowd gathered in huge numbers, the climate was hot in afternoon but as the arrival went to evening, people had to wait in cold. As time came nearby it started to rain. Nevertheless, Crowd and media waited with an umbrella so that to have a look of Abhinandan.

Pakistan Prime Minister announced Abhinandan’s release on Thursday in the national assembly as a ‘Gesture Of Peace’. Where on the other side, the Pakistani army was continuously firing over LOC.

On his emancipation, Pakistan claimed that he was treated with dignity and in line with International law.

Series of videos were released by Pakistan of Abhinandan seeing in their custody. He told his name, religion and service number and very confidently denied revealing any other information.

There was one video where he was seen having tea. According to reports it was seen that the video was edited 18 times.

He was in MIG 21 which crashed in Pakistan and he landed with parachute safely. As soon he landed, local civilians surrounded Abhinandan and tried hitting him. Through his revolver he shoots in the air and ran towards the nearby lake where he destroyed all the confidential documents, some he tried swallowing. Soon, he was in custody of Pakistan army.

Abhinandan was all safe but the gravest concern facing him was being in Pakistan but through Geneva convention, which writes any soldier captured during conflict must be returned with seven days otherwise it will be noted as ‘Act of War’. He was brought back to the country yesterday.
