After Six-Hour Wait, Arvind Kejriwal Files Nomination on Last Day

Mumbai: After Six hours-long wait Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal finally files his nomination for the Delhi Assembly Election 2020.

He had reached the Returning Officer (RO) office at Jamnagar House in the national capital at 2:30 pm to file his nomination. The CM said on Twitter that he is waiting for his turn and his token number is 45. In particular, today is the last day for filing nominations.

“Waiting to file my nomination. My token no is 45. There are many people here to file nomination papers. (I) am so glad so many people participating in democracy,” Kejriwal said in a tweet.

The Delhi CM was supposed to file his nomination on Monday but he was doing a roadshow and it was delayed. So could not file his nomination on Monday.

“I was supposed to file my nomination today, but it is already 3 o’clock and the office is closed by 3 o’clock. I was told that I have to file nomination but I said how can I leave them (present in roadshow) to people? I will go to file the nomination tomorrow, ”Kejriwal said on Monday.

The Delhi CM reached the office of the Returning Officer at 12.30 PM, accompanied by his family, including parents, and party leaders Pankaj Gupta and Gopal Mohan.
