Mumbai: The AIADMK has released its first list of six candidates for Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 6. Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palaniswami will contest in the upcoming polls from the Edappadi constituency in his home district of Salem.
Meanwhile, Deputy CM O Panneerselvam will fight from his native place of Bodinayakanur in the Theni district.

Other names on the list include D Jayakumar (Minister of Fisheries) and CV Shanmugam (Law Minister). Jayakumar will contest from Royapuram, while Shanmugam will contest from Villupuram in northern Tamil Nadu.
MLAs SP Shanumuganathan and S Thenmozhi have been given tickets from Srivigundam and Neelakottai (reserved) tickets respectively.

Earlier, CM Palaniswami had expressed confidence that the public was supporting the AIADMK, which has been in power in Tamil Nadu for 10 years.

Elections to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will be held in a single phase on April 6 and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 2.
