Alex Carey Feels IPL May Not Take Place Due To Coronavirus Crisis

Mumbai: Considering the current situation arising out of the coronovirus crisis, Australian cricketer Alex Carey said that he feels that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 may not happen.

Alex said, “It would have been nice to play in Delhi and play cricket. This was my first time being selected to be a part of the IPL. Currently, at this stage, there is a possibility that it might not progress.”

Carey said he was unsure when the epidemic would end, but added that it was a good opportunity for players to refresh and recharge.

“It’s a difficult one at the moment because we’re just unsure about how long this can last … At the moment, I’m seeing this as a very good opportunity for people to refresh and recharge,” said.

The IPL 2020 was scheduled to commence on March 29.

However, the league has now been postponed until further notice by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
