All 22 Congress Ministers Resign To Make Way For Rebel MLAs In Cabinet

Mumbai: In an attempt to save the 13-month-old alliance government, JD (S) in Karnataka- all the 22 Congress ministers of the Congress government have resigned.

The Ministers handed over their resignation to party chief Dinesh Gundu Rao on Monday after a meeting under the Chairmanship of Karnataka Deputy CMG Parameshwara, to remove rebel legislators.

Following the resignation of more than a dozen ruling Congress-JD (S) MLAs, Karnataka has resigned in the backdrop of political developments.

“We know what BJP is trying to do. If need be, all of us may resign and then accommodate the MLAs,” Karnataka deputy CM Parameshwara said before his meeting with the cabinet ministers. Karnataka deputy CM said, “Willing to quit if the party wants his to placate the MPs.”

The Congress-JD (S) government got in crisis after 13 legislators, 10 Congress and three JD (S), submitted their resignation to the speaker.

At least 10 of the 13 resignants are camping in a Mumbai hotel. The dissident MLAs have made it clear that all 13 of them are together. He has said that there is no question of withdrawing our resignation.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who returned from the USA on Sunday held a series of meetings with leaders of the JD(S) and Congress, including the Congress legislative party leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah without a break till late Sunday night.
