Mumbai: In huge development in Nirbhaya case all four convicts will be hanged on January 22, Delhi’s Patiala House court said on Tuesday.

Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora issued the death warrant in the presence of all the convicts, who were produced in court through video conferencing.

The culprits will be hanged on January 22 at 7 am.

Earlier in the day, the court reserved the order to issue a death warrant against all the four convicts in the case on the plea of ​​Nirbhaya’s parents.

The court heard the plea of ​​the parents of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape victim and sought to expedite the execution of the four convicts in the case and also issued a death warrant against them.

The convicts were informed by the lawyers that they are in the process of filing a remedial petition.

On Monday, the court rejected an application filed by the father of one of those sentenced to death in the Nirbhaya rape case, questioning the credibility of the sole witness, claiming that he was “read” and the F.I.R. A demand was lodged against him.

The sole eye-witness was accompanying the 23-year-old girl when she was raped and murdered by six men on a moving bus on December 16, 2012.

Apart from Pawan Kumar Gupta, three others – Akshay, Vinay, and Mukesh are facing hanging in the case.

Ram Singh, the prime accused in the trial, allegedly committed suicide in Tihar Jail. Another accused was a minor at the time of the crime and was sent to a correctional facility and released after three years.
