All Delhi Schools Closed Till Further Orders Due To COVID-19 Surge: CM Kejriwal

Mumbai: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that amid rising cases of coronavirus in the national capital, all schools (both government and private) have been closed for classes till further orders.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter and wrote, “Due to increasing cases of Covid, all schools (including government, private) in Delhi are being closed for all classes till further orders.”

District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey had earlier ordered the closure of all educational institutions, schools, colleges, coaching centres in Ghaziabad by 17 April. Meanwhile, the Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration imposed a night curfew in Noida from Thursday. There will be a curfew on April 17 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Meanwhile, Delhi on Thursday recorded 7,437 fresh cases of Covid-19, the highest single-day surge this year, while 24 more people died due to the coronavirus infection, taking the death toll to 11,157, according to the city health department.
