Amarinder Singh, Sukhbir Badal Two Sides Of The Same Coin, Says Navjot Singh Sidhu

Mumbai: Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab, state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu launched a scathing attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Punjab Lok Congress (PLC), saying their leaders are two sides of the same coin.

Appealing to the voters of Punjab, Sidhu, referring to himself, said that if you want to bring about a change, then vote for this man.

“Captain Amarinder Singh and Sukhbir Singh Badal are two sides of the same coin. Choosing a captain or Badal would be a regressive step. If change is to be brought about, this man (referring to himself) is before you with a plan.” ANI quoted Sidhu as saying during a press conference in Amritsar.

Earlier on Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had campaigned for Navjot Singh Sidhu in Amritsar. Akali Dal has fielded Bikram Singh Majithia against Congress MLA Sidhu from Amritsar East.

Punjab will vote in a single phase on February 20 to elect the new government in the border state and the result will be declared on March 10 as per the schedule of the Election Commission of India.

This time the main contest is being seen between the ruling Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In the last assembly elections, Congress secured an absolute majority in the state by winning 77 seats and ousted the SAD-BJP government after being in power for 10 years.
