Amul Increases Milk Prices By Rs 2 / Liter In Delhi

Mumbai: Dairy major Amul said that due to the increase in the cost of production, the prices of milk in Delhi NCR, Maharashtra and other states will increase by 2 rupees per litre from Monday.

Prices of milk were revised two years ago in March 2017, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk and milk products under the Amul brand, has been stated in a statement.

GCMMF said in a statement that the new price will be applicable from May 21 and will be applicable to all six brands being sold in major markets of Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, West Bengal, Kolkata, Uttaranchal, Maharashtra and other states.

Amul Gold’s 500 ml (ML) pack of Amul Gold will cost 27 rupees, Amul Shakti 25, Amul Taja 21 and Amul Diamond 28 rupees.

There is no change in the price of cow’s milk in Gujarat.

GCMMF said, “This increase in milk prices has happened after two years of interval, which is aimed at reducing the cost of remuneration milk for our milk producers due to lack of milk production and increase in production costs.”

Considering the increase in the cost of milk production, all the milk union federations of Gujarat have increased the minimum milk price of milk by 30-50 rupees per kg (5-8%) in the last few months.
