Anil Parab Behind Narayan Rane’s Arrest Claims BJP MLA Ashish Shelar

Mumbai: A day after Union Minister Narayan Rane was arrested and later granted bail over his remarks against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra BJP MLA Ashish Shelar claimed that Transport Minister Anil Parab was behind the arrest.

Shelar also demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire process of arrest and action.

“We demand a CBI inquiry into the entire process of arrest and action. Why is the Maharashtra government so scared of Jan Ashirwad Yatra that it is behaving like this,” asked Shelar.

BJP MLA from Vandre West took a jibe at Uddhav Thackeray and said that on August 15, the CM forgot how many years have passed since independence.

“Under the leadership of state BJP chief, Chandrakant Patil we will write 75,000 letters and send them to CM so that he doesn’t forget. Will CM apologise to people?” Shelar asked.

Rane courted controversy over his remarks slapping Chief Minister Thackeray and said it was shameful that he did not know the year of independence.

“It is shameful that the chief minister does not know the year of independence. He leaned back to enquire about the count of years of independence during his speech. Had I been there, I would have given (him) a tight slap,” Rane said during his Jan Ashirwad Yatra on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister is set to resume his ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ in Maharashtra in a couple of days.
